NATURAL REMEDY - Fermented Rice Water Hair Rinse
Sometimes you're on a tight budget and you just can't afford the luxury of a ready-made fermented rice water shampoo or conditioner. We know. We've all been there.
The good news is, with a little bit of patience and planning on your part (2 days planning in advance to be exact), you can create your very own fermented rice water hair rinse.
2500ml Hot Water
Place the rice in a glass/plastic bowl.
TIP 1: You can use any type of rice. We use Basmati rice.
Pour the hot water over the rice and cover the bowl with cling film. If the bowl comes with a plastic cover, you can use that instead of the cling film. Leave the mixture aside to ferment for 48hrs.
Do not place the bowl in the fridge at any time!
TIP 2: You can use hot water straight out of the tap or you can use freshly boiled water.
When it's time to wash your hair (48hrs later), strain the rice out of the infusion, add 2 - 3 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar and pour the mixture over your hair as a final rinse after shampooing and deep conditioning.
TIP 3: We like to use this mixture as a final rinse. This allows the hair & scalp to absorb all the benefits of the rice water. Once the hair dries, any leftover rice water smell is minimal to non-existent.
